Paramount Skydance Plans to Cut Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Report

Paramount Skydance plans to initiate mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 American roles as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August with a value of $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to disclose complete information during its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.

Prior news had indicated the company was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond on the matter.
