Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Shoreline
A chopper hovering over a crowded coastal shoreline unexpectedly started spinning wildly, ultimately losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Videos uploaded on social media depict the chopper starting to spin over the shoreline then falling towards the edge of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the coastal road.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters said five people were rushed to the hospital comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on Saturday.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Information on their wounds were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
